About Us

Susan and Lisa met while working for Lowell Observatory at the Navy Precision Optical Interferometer (NPOI) near Flagstaff. It's a unique instrument which combines the light from several small telescopes as if they were one. We also operated the 4.3 meter Lowell Discovery Telescope. As professional telescope observers, we set the all-time record for the most NPOI scans in a single night (362). We make a great team!

Susan hails from Sacramento, California with a B.S. in Computer Engineering. She has more than 25 years of technical and astronomy outreach experience with Hewlett Packard, the Sacramento Astronomical Society, Lowell Observatory, and the Coconino Astronomical Society. She and hubbie Kevin live with 3 fluffy cats near Flagstaff, AZ.

Originally from southern Wisconsin, Lisa earned her B.S. in Astrophysics from the University of New Mexico, and a Graduate Certificate of Astronomy from Swinburne University in Australia. An Air Force veteran, she spent most of her career as a data analyst for the Very Large Array in New Mexico. She also taught community college astronomy and math. She has more than 40 years of technical and astronomy outreach experience. Lisa has 2 adult offspring and 2 energetic dogs and lives near Flagstaff.

We love observing the sky together and want to share our knowledge and enthusiasm with you.
